RBC CANADIAN OPEN CHAMPION: RORY MCILROY

Blazing a trail, that is rarely seen, Rory McIlroy had nine birdies through 15 holes. The watch was on for a 59, and after ripping four birdies 11-14 it seemed all but written. That was until the 188yd par 3, 16, where Rory hit his tee shot into the greenside bunker. His par putt from 13 feet just missed, handing him his first bogey of the day. Rory being Rory, eagled #17 to again bring up the 59 watch, but he bogeyed 18 to finish with a 61 (-9), and seven shots clear of Shane Lowry and Webb Simpson.

Rory pretty much shut the door on everyone right from the start, shooting -5 through seven holes. Adam Hadwin was the low Canadian after shooting a 70 (E). At one point, Adam was sitting at +2 for the day, with a -1, 34 on the inward nine Adam was able to bring it back to -12 for the tournament. He finished four shots clear of the next closest Canadian, Mackenzie Hughes.
