Stanford Wins 9th National Championship

Stanford won their ninth title yesterday at Blessings Golf Club. 6th seeded Stanford defended Texas 3-2, both Senior All-Americans, Isaiah Salinda and Brandon Wu went undefeated in match play.

Early in the match Stanford had fallen behind, but was able to gain control by the turn. It was the Junior, Henry Shimp, who finished off Texas. With a bridie on 16 he took a 2-up lead. With a par 17 from 20 feet out, Henry won the winning 3rd point for Stanford.

While his team lost, Cole Hammer did not come home empty handed. Earlier in the day Cole won the Phil Mickelson award.
