2019 NCAA Men’s National Championship Preview

The final 30 teams and 6 individuals are set to meetup this Friday, May 24th at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. #1 ranked Oklahoma State is looking to win their 12th NCAA Championship and defend last years Championship. Of course, I am rooting for the Louisville Cardinals to take home their first National Championship. Who all is going to be teeing off at this years National Championship:

The six individuals: Edwin Yi, Oregon; Billy Tom Sargent, Western Kentucky; Tripp Kinney, Iowa State; Kyler Dunkle, Utah; Julian Perico, Arkansas: Zach Smith, UC Santa Barbara.

Friday thru Sunday will be a 54 hole stroke play event which will decide the top 15 teams and 9 individuals not on a qualifying team. This group will then play an 18 hole stroke play event on Monday to decide the 72 hole individual champion, and the 8 teams advancing to match play. On Tuesday these 8 teams will play the quarterfinal and semifinal, and the National Championship decided on Wednesday the 29th.

The 80th year of NCAA Men’s Golf National Championship is being hosted by the University of Arkansas at Blessing Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This beast of a course stretches to 7,900 yards and has a slope rating of 153. Opened in 2004 this Robert Trent Jones Jr. design was redesigned by Kyle Phillips in 2017.
