Records are Falling

Did you watch that?

Brooks Koepka just shot a 36 hole record for a PGA Championship at -12. And he did this while paired along side Tiger who struggled to a +5 and a missed cut, I am sure he will be fine.

Utilizing the wonderful PGAchampionship app I watched quite a bit of Brooks Koepka first 36 holes, and he was an absolute machine. Not only is Koepka absolutely killing the ball, he is also absolutely accurate and putting out of his mind. Known for the long ball he has averaged 311.4 yards off the tee while sporting an amazing 71.4% fairways hit average. And to top that all off he has been on the greens in regulation 83.3% of the time. That means he has only missed 6, yes only 6 greens so far in this tournament. That is not luck at Bethpage either because you are not rolling it up on these greens.

The two guys hanging out behind Brooks, albeit by seven shots, are Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott. Personally I have always loved watching both of these guys play so it will be exciting to see how they play this weekend. Will they be able to catch the blazing trail that Brooks is leaving? Jordan spent most of his day behind Dustin Johnson and John Rahm off the tee but finished ahead of both of them by shooting a 66 and T2 at -5. Adam Scott had a sniff at the course record, set by Brooks Koepka on Thursday, but it seems like his mental issues with the putter showed up on 17. But hey, he “settled” with a 64 and T2 at -5.

I look forward to watching this weekend!
